Hello! I am Lish Hicken and welcome to my corner of the internet. I'm an aspiring writer with a love of the creative based in South East London. Born and raised in Tring, Herts.

 

After moving to London in the summer of 2021, after years of customer facing jobs, including being a manager at Tesco during the peak of the pandemic, I decided I needed a change. Although I am thankful for the experiences and skills I gained I wanted to pursue a passion. Writing.

I joined the University of Greenwich in September of 2022 on their BA English Literature with Creative Writing course. Joining University as a 'mature student', in my opinion, was one of the best things I could've done for myself. I was able to apply myself in ways that I wouldn't of been able to do had I of been younger. During this time my writing skills have grown tenfold and I can't thank them enough. My creativity has flourished under their help.

Lish's Corner is my way of displaying my work and love of writing. Kurt Vonnegut once said you create to 'experience becoming, to find out what's inside you and to make your soul grow'.
